Hello Family seeks to improve outcomes for young children and their families by providing a continuum of evidence-based services for all children born in the City of Spartanburg from prenatal care through age five. Specifically, Hello Family seeks to improve birth outcomes, reduce child abuse and neglect, and improve kindergarten readiness.
Spartanburg's Way to Wellville Core Team has been supported by the Institute for Child Success in the development of Hello Family. Through grants from the Nonprofit Finance Fund and the Social Innovation Fund, Spartanburg tested the feasibility of financing Hello Family though a Pay for Success (PFS) model. PFS is an innovative approach to funding services. Private investors provide upfront capital for the delivery of services and are repaid, plus interest, by a government or philanthropic payor if mutually agreed upon outcomes are achieved. We are looking to secure investments in Hello Family and have also applied for a federal grant opportunity to hopefully launch certain Hello Family offerings in the near future. Stay tuned for more!
